Question: I don’t own a copy of PowerPoint but I would like to view PowerPoint files. Is there a way I can do this without having to spend $100 plus to buy the PowerPoint program?
Answer: Yes, Microsoft provides a free Powerpoint viewer that can be downloaded from their web site. This program will allow you to view PowerPoint files but will not allow you to edit existing files or create new PowerPoint files. To download the viewer go to the Microsoft home page and look for the Search Box (probably in the upper right hand section). Enter “Powerpoint Viewer” into the Search Box Download link and click on search. This will take take you to the search results which will include the link to the page to download the viewer.
Free Viewers Also Available for Viso, Word and Excel
Microsoft also provides free viewers for Word, Excel, and Visio. Remember none of the viewers allow you to create or edit a file. The free viewer utilties only allow you to view existing files.
